the american cathedral in paris

March 2020–May 2023

As communications manager, I was responsible for social media at the cathedral. I planned the communications according to strategic direction by leadership, growing a strong brand presence primarily on Instagram and Facebook. I launched campaigns for events and religious seasons, for the annual appeal, and notably for a capital campaign of 5 million euro. My work grew the cathedral's subscriber base by 300%, with demonstrated increased engagement.

I created standard layouts for regular posts (below), using the new brand style guide, and variations on that layout for special campaigns and seasons.

Below: posts from the 2023 capital campaign to restore the historic organ, modeled on the 2023 annual appeal campaign. The campaign's goal of 5 million euro was surpassed to reach 5.2 million euro within the set timeline.

Below: posts promoting the March 2023 celebration of the cathedral's centenary, a weekend-long event jointly hosted by the American Cathedral in Paris, the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, and the Episcopal Church. The blue and gold in this campaign, as well as the alternate fonts in the first post, come from the convocation's style guide.

Below: posts for the cathedral's Lenten devotional, Henry Matisse and the Season of Lent. The devotional included weekly exercises and meditations linked to one or two Matisse paintings. The posts for this campaign included a small square of each painting and a prompt or question from that week's exercise.
